THE BEGINNER’S GOODBYE By Anne Tyler October 7, 2012

I have always love Anne Tyler’s characters. They are so flawed and human, so easy to relate to, yet incredibly interesting. They are everyday people, they could be anyone you know, but she turns them to an angle that makes them so intriguing that the reader is compelled to devour her novels simply to remain in their company.

THE BEGINNER’S GOODBYE is no exception. It begins with Aaron’s wife returning from the dead. Then we track back through the pages and learn how the couple met, how Dorothy died, and exactly who these people are. A short book, it can be read in just a couple of days, and it has an ending that surprised Aaron as much as it will its readers. If you want an easy and amusing read, this novel is a perfect choice.

Me too! I love the way her characters seem like someone you actually know. I was fantasizing about her character who just leaves her life to start another in Ladder of Years. I love to escape my life through novels. http://mbcoudal.com/2012/11/17/want-to-run-away/
